From documentary filmmaker Keith Famie in association with Kevin’s Song, the film delves deeply into the complex and often misunderstood world of depression and suicide. This feature length documentary unearths the roots of depression and explores the reasons for suicidal tendencies through personal stories, as well as through scientific reasoning. Through the lives of suicide survivors, veterans, and first responders, as well as respected mental health professionals, we explore the aftermaths of these sometimes-tragic events.
In telling the story of mental illness and suicide, it is hoped that a more open discussion of these topics will take place in our society, that those with suicidal tendencies and their loved ones will know that help is available, that we will learn to recognize signs and symptoms of suicide, and that those who have lost a loved one to suicide will find support. In the end, the Film concludes and drives home the message that death is not the answer.
